One day trip to the waterfalls in the Turgen gorge

The Turgen Gorge is one and half hour drive from Almaty and is known, mostly for its waterfalls. Getting to the first one, called Medvezhyi, is pretty easy, about 2 km by stony track and you will see impressive waterfall of 30 meters high. Other waterfall named Kairaksky is not so high, but still interesting to see: massive flow forms 3 cascades and it gives real fresh after the long track. The road is about 8 km (one way) and will take much more time so, walk to it turns into a real weekend trip. At the same time, the path to the waterfall runs along a very picturesque gorge, which is a pleasure to be in!

For this tour, we recommend you to wear comfortable trekking shoes, bring plenty of drinking water and light snacks. The guide is going to take care of hot tea and delicious cookies.

The tour starts from your hotel in Almaty. After the tour, the guide will accompany you to your hotel, or any other point in the city.
