Trip to the high mountain lake Issyk

Issyk Lake is located in one and half hour drive from Almaty,in a very beautiful gorge, next to Issyk town. On the way to the lake it is brief stop at the museum of the Golden Man, near of Skif’s mounds where golden artifacts, country’s heritage, were found.

The way to the lake is rich in wonderful scenery: coniferous forests, spring-fields, mountain stream, rocky cliffs – all these make you feel excitement.

 When the weather is good, the lake pleases you with its emerald color and pleasant freshness of the mountain air. You can have a picnic here, ride along the coastline in a motorboat (for an additional fee) or go on a light short hike deep into the gorge. This tour is a great alternative to a trip to the Big Almaty Lake if you prefer more quiet and uninhabited places.

For this tour, we recommend you to wear comfortable trekking shoes, bring plenty of drinking water and light snacks. The guide is going to take care of hot tea and delicious cookies.

The tour starts from your hotel in Almaty. After the tour, the guide will accompany you to your hotel, or any other point in the city.
